My Diary

Polly Jackson Hi, it's me! This section of the website is for my own personal commentary on the Eventing season. Feel free to read my ramblings below to gain an insight on what it's like to ride professionally.

A good weekend at Burnham

A good weekend at Burnham

After the frustrating washout at Blenheim, with Henry (Bournston Highland Charm) sitting pretty after dressage, it was good to be competing at Burnham Market this weekend.

Poppy (Papillon) won the 5yr old class, and it could have been a 1,2 after Freddy (Footprints in the Sand) posted a leading dressage score. Unfortunately he and me had a bad day on the Cross Country course with two silly 20's which put us out of it.

Rudy (Rudy's Pride) has not competed a lot this year. He is a big boy and I have concentrated on building his strength and condition before too much competition. The plan seems to be working well. He produced a great dressage, and although there were a couple of careless poles down, cross country was awesome. Another great prospect!

Henry produced another great dressage round - better I felt than Blenheim - and then a good double clear showjumping and cross country. I took him steady, and I am still hoping for a late slot at Boekelo CCI*** next month (along with many others who were at Blenheim and Burghley!)
