My Diary

Polly Jackson Hi, it's me! This section of the website is for my own personal commentary on the Eventing season. Feel free to read my ramblings below to gain an insight on what it's like to ride professionally.

Badminton

Badminton

It was so good to be back at a four-star with a great horse!

And the event was better prepared than ever before ? a good track with a technically challenging set of jumping tests that were destined to catch out even some of the most experienced Eventers from across the world.

When we arrived on Tuesday, Dick was fit and raring to go, my only concern being the disruption to our preparation schedule as he recovered from his knock in Fontainebleau. The dressage was below what he will achieve in the future ? accurate but not as flamboyant as he has shown in training, and as Cross Country day dawned, I was looking forward to him showing what a great horse he is across country. Sadly, it was not to be this time. We had an early morning warm-up and he did not feel 100%, which is what was needed to tackle the tough Badminton track safely, and on vet?s advice I decided not to run.

Luhmuhlen in June is the next target to aim at!
