August to Martinvast

August to Martinvast

Monday 14th August saw me and Percy, Mickey and Ally heading down to the Poole ferry for a trip across to Cherbourg, and the World Cup event in Martinvast. The journey was very easy, as Martinvast is just 3 miles south of the port, and we all arrived after a good overnight crossing. I had dropped Percy down to the two-star to give him a confidence run ahead of either Blenheim or Burghley, but unfortunately he suffered with more post-virus symptoms, and was only able to complete two phases. Ally had a rare 20 on cross country, and finished down the field, leaving Mickey to put in the best performance in the one-star, with a double clear and a 15th place (from around 150 starters). The event was well organised with great preparation and a warm welcome. It was a good trip overall for owners, team and me, and certainly one I will keep in the diary
